Financial and Estate Planning for the Parkinson’s Community

September 21, 2017

Course Description: This is a practical consumer level webinar co-hosted with the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research that will explain basic financial and estate planning steps for those living with Parkinson’s disease (PD), or with a loved one living with PD. What steps should you take to make your future more secure? What legal documents should you have in place to protect you? The webinar will provide an overview of key legal documents: durable power of attorney, health care proxy, living will, HIPAA release and revocable trust, all in understandable layman's terms. How might you tailor your financial and estate planning to address the challenges of PD? How can you organize your financial affairs to make it easier and safer to handle bill paying, investing and other matters? Planning ideas will be provided for a full range of wealth and income levels. The webinar will not address Medicaid planning, however. Speakers: Martin Shenkman, Esq. and Michele Golombuski, VP of Development for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research
