Remote Work: Points for Practitioners to Consider

Remote work is incredibly common. An ABA survey found that 87% of firms allows lawyers to work remotely. About 30% of lawyers work from home almost all the time. Another 30% work in the office nearly 100% of the time. As remote work continues to grow, more and more estate planners will work more than occasionally from a home or vacation home in a state where they are not licensed. What issues might this raise? How much work in a remote location might create licensing issues? This webinar will focus on the practical, ethical, professional and other implications of remote work. ABA Opinion 495 will be reviewed and analyzed as well as authorities in various states. The goal is to equip professional advisers and firms with the knowledge to evaluate the licensing and other issues remote work may create and to then take appropriate actions to avoid problems.
