This article describes many ways seniors and those with health or other challenges can use technology to provide greater security. It focuses on ways estate planners can use technology to help clients facing the challenges of aging, chronic illness, etc. Consider periodic web meetings to shore up your planning or have ongoing contact. It can be a simple, inexpensive and powerful safety tool. Transcription of web meetings is a nearly zero cost way to document important discussions to help you remember what was discussed. A cloud-based portal of all your key documents is a no cost way to make documents available to key advisers, family and others. An app for your smart phone that lets you access your health care proxy in an emergency could minimizes stress in what is likely a difficult situation.
